Are you someone who walks a lot or would like to walk more? Would you prefer to have some company and guidance when out in the hills? A UFRC Welcome Walk could be for you in 2024!
The Ulster Federation of Rambling Clubs (UFRC) is the national governing body for walking/hiking/rambling in Northern Ireland and has over 20 affiliated clubs across the country. During the month of March, some of our clubs will be hosting walks that anyone can join in with – just let them know you’d like to walk with them and they’ll show you the ropes. If there are a couple of walks in your area offered by different clubs, you could try walking with a few to find the club that’s the best fit for you.
Benefits of UFRC Membership
Members of clubs affiliated to UFRC can avail of multiple benefits:
- Competitive membership fee (£3 per member)
- Insurance (£2 per member)
- Subsidised training sessions (first aid, navigation, leave no trace, social media)
- Spring Gathering
- Autumn Gathering and AGM
- Opportunity to feedback on strategy
- Retail Discounts
