UFRC was delighted to welcome 50 representatives from affiliated clubs to the annual Autumn Gathering and AGM held this year in the Burrendale Hotel Newcastle, Co. Down on Saturday 19th October 2024.
Clubs received updates on the finances of UFRC, insurance, training opportunities and current funding by SportNI. This year’s event included a presentation on the organisation of the Wee Binnian Walking Festival and welcomed Caroline McKenna daughter of a Mourne Rambler who has become popular on social media under the name (@acountydownunder) best known for her positive messages to improve mental health and encouraging people with her exciting adventure challenges. Caroline shared about her experience walking with her father in the Mournes as part of a walking club, challenge climb of Kilimanjaro and current training for her climb to the Base Camp of Mt. Everest.

After lunch the sun shone for an optional walk led by UFRC Committee member William following the Donard Granite Trail. A special thank you to William for organising this very enjoyable walk.
