You are invited to the Autumn Gathering and Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Ulster Federation of Rambling Clubs. This year’s meeting is being hosted by the UFRC Committee at the Burrendale Hotel & Spa, Newcastle on Saturday 19th October 2024 at 10 am. The AGM will be held during the first part of the morning and be followed by presentations from Wee Binnians and Social Media Influencer Caroline McKenna (@acountydownunder).
Daughter of a Mourne Rambler, Caroline has close links to UFRC and will be joining us to share about her recent summit of Kilimanjaro and her preparation to hike to Everest Basecamp (5,364m) and Kala Patthar (5,550m).
After lunch there will be an optional walk led by members of Wee Binnians.
As always at the AGM we will be electing office bearers and committee members for the coming year 2024-25. New nominations will be warmly welcomed to ensure that UFRC has a wide representation from our membership. The main objective of the Committee is to support the clubs that we all represent. Skills and experience are always put to good use but the most important qualities are energy, a little spare time, and a desire to give something back to the activity that we all greatly enjoy.
Nominations can be made by emailing admin@ulsterrambling.com. Ideally nominations should be with the Executive two weeks before the AGM. This year we are calling on younger and female members to consider joining our committee to ensure we better represent our members as a diverse committee.
It goes without saying that we are greatly looking forward to seeing many of you again!
